Smoked Ham Steak
Whey-fed pork is a specialty that is truly a part of regenerative agriculture. River's Edge Dairy supplement their pastured pigs with whey left over from cheesemaking. Whey is a complete protein for pigs being an alternative to feeding grain. Traditionally, pigs were taken to the butcher in the autumn, when the dairy animals had dried up, and all other forage was frozen.
Ham steak is an ideal alternative to having ham but with only a couple of people as it's pre-sliced ham that's ready to use. Easy to cook in the oven, on the stove, or in the oven.
