Make watercolour paint by hand

An introductory workshop to making watercolour paint by hand. You will be taken through all the steps on creating paint like the old masters.

We will cover:

• pigments, what they are, where they come from, 
  
• components of watercolour paint from the stone age until modern day
• different palettes used by different artists
• how agriculture influenced pigments and paint
• identifying a simple palette
• tools used for making paint
• making paint

No experience is necessary. Each participant will go home with their own watercolour palette that can be actively used for field sketching.  Jennifer makes her own paint and uses them in her own artwork.

 The opportunity to purchase take-home kits will be available.

Time: 12-4 pm. drinks and snacks included.
